Do you have to be a pilot to become a member of the Faasteam? ›

No! FAASafety.gov is for anyone that is interested in aviation safety!

To complete a Phase, all required credits must be completed within 12 months. If a credit expires before you complete a phase, you must earn that credit again. When you are done with a Phase of WINGS, simply print your certificate and begin your next Phase.

You may choose to change your password online immmediately by answering some questions regarding your user account -- or, reset your password via email. Representatives from all segments of the aviation industry, including general aviation, air carriers, corporate and business aviation, repair facilities, flight and mechanic schools, FBOs, and other aviation entities and individuals, are encouraged to participate with the FAASTeam.

To become a flight instructor, you must hold a commercial or airline transport pilot certificate. You must also have an instrument rating. You will receive ground and flight training to obtain your instructor rating.

The primary qualifications needed for a career as a co-pilot include significant flight experience and an Airline Transport Pilot certification.
