Class 6 Learners

Postby DanontheDrive » Mon Jan 04, 2010 8:09 pm

Today I got my Class 6 Learners. I am a bit confused though, some people suggest that as long as you have your learners you can ride a scooter that is over 50cc. If I do this am I breaking the law? I want to get a 150 cc and eventually get my Class 6. I know from ICBC that I can take my test on a 150.
Any words of advice?

Thanks, I guess if I had understood that post entirely, I wouldn't have raised it again. I understand the licensing requirements for a limited speed motorcycle -as defined by ICBC - generally speaking that covers up to 50 cc's. I was wondering about driving a 150 cc with just a Class 6 Learners.

You can remove the speed limitation of 60km/hr on a learners if you take the motorcycle skills test. Depending on if you have a class 5 or not you can take the motorcycle skills test after 1 week or 1 month. The test is a parking lot test going around some cones doing turns and stops.. pretty easy. I have a learners and I took the skills test on my 125cc scooter but you can't take it on a 49cc.

Dah! Finally got it through my thick head. Once I take my parking lot (Motor Skills Test) the requirement to have a supervisor with me is removed. Thanks,Pimp and all.

somewhat old topic but i want to correct a few errors incase a new person comes browsing.

The MST. (skills test)
Can be taken on a 50cc bike >IF< you do not hold a class 5. So if your only license is a motorcycle, which in this case
would be an 8L you can take MST on a 50cc. (i did)

I took my first road test (8N) on a 150cc and my final test (class 6) on a 460cc.

if you take road tests on a scooter you would have restriction 24 (scooters only)
Money cant buy happiness: but it can buy you a Scooter and you are never sad riding on a scooter
