Espresso Saturday @ Urban Wasp Wrapping Up

Postby Reverend2u » Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:35 am

Due to a significant event in my life on Saturday, February 6th ...

There will be "no" Espresso's. Latte or Cappuccino's brewed this week @ Urban Wasp.

See you again all on Saturday, February 13th!

Sincerely,

Robert, the Reverend

Robert, The Rev:

somehow I missed this.

I take it that you got your scooter back and were so happy you wanted to ride around the country to make up for lost time

enjoy your ride, the wind in your face, blah blah blah . . .

You are funny!

(so very funny)

Jennifer & I needed to attend a supper, followed by the AGM of our church, at which we became members of that local gathering.

But I did ride home from Vancouver this afternoon (in the pouring rain) on a Peugeot TKR Furious, which I'll be using tomorrow & Saturday to commute to work.

Coffee will be served this Saturday, February 13th from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

See you all there!

Best regards,

Robert, the Reverend

P.S. My scoot is waiting for an idle jet for the carburetor to arrrive from San Diego. We're down to the final stages and just need to get the scoot running as best can be. No settling for less.

The Peugeot TKR Furious has pro's & con's ...

Check out my blog @ reverend2u.blogspot.com where I talk a bit about the good and the bad.

All in all, I am reasonably satisfied with it. I still would like to spend some time on a Aprilia SR50 to make a different sort of comparison. Forget about comparing it with my Vespa PX150. There are no comparisons in that scenario, but compared to the Yamaha Vino 50cc I drove around the city for 32,000 km, the Peugeot is a nicer ride, more guts (ie. power, but not enough - could use an expansion pipe) and definitely more agile.

Tomorrow, I'll do the math on the gas and give a figure for mpg.

Best regards!

Keep looking up & pressing forward ...

Jeff ...

HI!

It would be great to see you. I work until 3:00 pm over at Clark & Adanac, so I won't be at Urban Wasp until 3:30 pm. I hope it works out to make you a latte.

Sorry I couldn't drop by. My buddy's car broke down so I had to pick him up in Abbotsford.

Saturday, March 27th
3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Spring has arrived and the weather will soon be cooperating.

Time to ride and to quit drinking coffee "or" maybe time to ride and drink coffee.

All good things must come to an end and so it is that the season of 2009/2010 Espresso Saturday's will be wrapping up until after summer. Hopefully we'll be back again next fall/winter to fire up the machine and pump out some delicious espresso, lattes and cappuccino's.

Until then, ...

Saturday is your last chance to drop by, enjoy a cup or two and chat. Donation to the Vancouver Food Bank is encouraged but not required.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Best regards,

Robert, the Reverend

P.S. Patches are on order and some be completed soon for the "Urban Riders" club. Membership will be $20 and include some benefits, but you'll only get out of it what you put into it. If interested in knowing more or helping out, drop me a line.

I just got in from spending my morning & half the afternoon scooting about. Perfect temperature, sunshine (in bits & pieces) and most importantly ... no rain while I was out.

:D

Keep looking up & pressing forward!

Regards,

Robert, the Reverend

P.S. "Urban Riders" will be looking for some other corporate sponsors to match $$$ for charity. The general idea ... we raise "x" number of dollars, the sponsor matches those cash donations (no charitable receipts given) and in turn gets a tax deductible receipt for the total amount. I see it as a "win-win" situation.

Note: "Espresso Saturdays" will continue after Thanksgiving Sunday 2010 and the charity will determined by/in consultation with Urban Wasp.
